Eden Prairie, Minn. Following the ongoing revelations that the Walz-Flanagan Administration lost nine billion dollars to fraud, the governor has finally gotten the message that Minnesotans do not trust him to run the state and manage their hard-earned tax dollars. The lieutenant governor, however, has not.

“Walz’s exit is overdue and the obvious first baby step to taking responsibility for the fraud that occurred under his watch,” said Hann. “He’s admitting that both he and his Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan are guilty of incompetently allowing tax payers to be defrauded on their watch. Therefore, anything short of the immediate resignations of both Walz and Flanagan is an unacceptable half measure in restoring Minnesotans’ trust that the extent of the fraud will be known and the perpetrators will be held accountable.

Democrats will talk about ‘turning the page,’ but Minnesotans know that whatever Democrat is hand-picked to be his replacement is just a new page out of the same book of the same failed policies and the same one party rule that allowed historic amounts of fraud.

Whether Amy Klobuchar and Angie Craig are voting for unchecked federal spending to be sent to Minnesota in the U.S. Senate or Walz and Flanagan are ignoring warnings, dismissing whistleblowers, and allowing our public programs to be looted, it’s clear that Democrats cannot be trusted.

It’s past time for the DFL’s one party rule to end in the governor’s mansion and in the U.S. Senate. Minnesota literally can’t afford it anymore.”

Even though Walz is no longer running for reelection, Minnesotans will continue to suffer economic challenges and the consequences of his mismanagement. His decision won’t lower grocery bills. It won’t reduce property taxes. It doesn’t ease inflation or return tax payers’ stolen money. Minnesotans deserve much, much more.
